Komori Lithrone G40p Advance Perfector

Forum Communications Printing's Fargo location added a brand new 40-inch, eight-color GL840P Advance Perfector, Komori's most versatile press. The new perfector sheetfed press will be the main workhorse for offset sheetfed printing under the Forum Communications Company umbrella.  This machine is so efficient that we've heard of other commercial printers moving jobs from their web press.  That's pretty amazing!

The Install

Installing a press is never quick and easy.  We have allocated 60 days to remove our current press, set a new concrete pad, and install the new Komori G40P Advance Perfector.  The new press will be larger as we are upgrading from a five-color sheetfed press to an eight-color high-performance beast of a full color sheetfed machine with a state of the art perfecting mechanism allowing it to print two-sided in one single pass.

Komori MBO K8RS Pallet-Fed Combi Folder

FCP Fargo also installed a new Komori MBO K8RS fully-automated combi-folder with automated arm for stacking the folded pieces onto a pallet at the end of the machine.  The K8RS is designed with a pallet-style feeder, which significantly reduces touch points and also helps keep the operator focused on the quality of the product running through it. This new folder is capable of production speeds up to 16,600 sheets per hour, allowing the folder to keep up with the G40P advance perfecting press.
